Based in Belper, Derbyshire, we ARE Derbyshire's Mobile Planetarium, the only one ACTUALLY BASED in the county! we try and support other local businesses where possible, and would like to think the counties schools and groups feel likewise!

We have been covering Derbyshire with our Mobile Planetarium since 2001, you can be assured of a fully professional and highly experienced presentation!

We have presented shows in Derbyshire's Towns Cities and Small Hamlets from Derby to the small schools in the Dales. As we are based in the county, we do understand the needs of the small rural (often 2 class) Schools and try where possible to support them!

Our Unique and Exclusive Shows cover all the 'space' aspects of the national curriculum from specialist EYFS to A-Level.  We also have the most SEND friendly dome and presentations in the UK with a walk-in, flat-floor disabled friendly entrance, Unique Signing in the dark ability (designed with staff from the national school for the Deaf) and years of experience of delivering special needs shows.

Our Mobile Planetarium,  sets up within a few minutes and packs away in a similar time. It can fit into a Hall, drama studio large classroom/ science lab or atrium. A Star dome is very cost effective as we come to you, meaning disruption to your day is minimised and creates a unique learning environment.

We also operate the UK's ONLY Astronomy stage show, which translates our planetarium shows into a 4m wide rear screen projected show, complete with full professional sound and lights. It is perfect for Assemblies, Large groups, Open/Parents evenings and summer fairs, it alos maintains social distancing, 

Our Mobile Planetarium, the Auriga Astronomy - Auriga Star Dome, gives high quality unique presenter led shows (many exclusive to us). A planetarium school visit brings the WOW factor into your school! Our shows are designed to support the curriculum from EYFS to A level, plus shows or a general nature. We have over 40 different shows in our catalogue so you will always find one that suits your requirements.

The Auriga Star Dome is an inflatable planetarium which can fit into tight spaces if need be, is a walk in SEND friendly dome, that accommodates wheelchairs relatively easily. We worked with staff from the National School for the Deaf in Derby, to create the ONLY signing system that works in total darkness!

We are perfect for scout and guides too (we regularly attend the Peak Camp as well as local meetings)!

Our presenter Dave is an active member of 'Astronomers without Borders', promoting international co-operation in 3rd world education, a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, works closely with NASA museums program. Dave is also an active STEM ambassador and Big Bang show judge and Invigilator, putting his free time into supporting Science education. He also runs the successful Auriga Astronomy YouTube channel which aid both teachers and home educators with video shorts on various topics (over 60 videos online) and even has the Los Angeles Astronomical Society as a subscriber!
